Dana Alexander
Legal Department Director Attorney Dana Alexander began working as a staff attorney at ACRI in 1993, where she developed an expertise in migrant workers' rights, the rights of the mentally ill, and the rights of the Arab Bedouin in the Negev. Through her work as an ACRI staff attorney before the Supreme Court, Ms. Alexander succeeded in bringing about the establishment of two new schools and two health clinics in unrecognized Arab Bedouin villages in the Negev. In addition, she filed the first Supreme Court petition challenging the discriminatory planning policies regarding these unrecognized villages, which launched the inclusion of representatives of the Bedouin community in the planning processes for their communities.
In 2001, Ms. Alexander joined the prestigious Mandel School for Educational Leadership, where she conducted research on the mobilization of civil society for social change. Upon completing her fellowship at the Mandel School in May 2003, she returned to ACRI as Legal Department Director. In this capacity, Ms. Alexander manages a team of attorneys, legal interns, and field workers. Ms. Alexander holds a bachelor's degree from Yale University in the field of philosophy and an LL.B. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
